Starting 1 July 2024, people from the Philippines aged 18 to 30 years old are entitled to apply for a work and holiday visa (subclass 462) for 12 months. But do not be so excited as the visa is limited to about 300 applicants only and applicants after the quota is reached will be processed in the next 2025 financial year.

If you intend to apply, you must be on the immigration website (www.homeaffairs.gov.au) early morning on 1 July 2004 and be ready to upload the following documents:

(a) coloured passport

(b) school transcript of records which is either a completed degree or completion of 2 years of undergraduate course

(c) certification from the school that the medium of instruction is in English or a functional English test result, which in PTE (academic) is a score of 30 points or 4.5 if IELTS

(d) money in you bank account of about $5,000 or 185,000 pesos, and

(e) NBI clearance.

You will then book for your biometrics and medical examination with an Australian panel doctor in the Philippines when you have an acknowledgment letter from the Immigration.
